Have you ever said something and as soon as it came out of your mouth you were like, wish I wouldn't have said that? I know I have! Sometimes it can be a little tough to say the right things and we just blurt out what was in our head. You know kinda like those inside words slipping to the outside. lol In James 1:26 we read that if you can't keep control of your tongue, your Christianity is worthless! We are suppose to be happy with others success! Are you truly happy with the success of others? Do you rejoice with them as they have their victories? Romans 12:15 tells us to rejoice with those who rejoice!
I know what you're thinking! Some folks just need to hear the truth! That thinking right there will lead to nothing but a mess. Kinda like a sneeze, you can feel that sneeze coming and boy when it finally happens your like, wow that was great and I feel so much better! But then you look down at your hand and see the mess that was left and there's a lot of clean up to be done now. Think about that the next time you just want to let some one have it because you know they need it and it will make everyone else feel so much better. Try taking a tissue and holding it over your face and keep it all inside, this way you won't have a mess to clean up and no one will get hurt.
Your negative attitude towards them and their success isn't about their great success, it's more about what's happening in your life. When you always have negative criticism towards people it's because your heart is not right! Luke 6:45 I mean come on, do want to be known as part of God's building crew or Satan's wrecking crew? It's your choice!
We need to watch our tongue, even if joking. Ephesians 4:5 tells us to avoid course joking. I think it's OK to have some fun, just make sure it's not at the expense of others. Pray about letting God have control of your words and then take the time to think about what to say before you speak.
