I find myself in a pride of lions who are wild for a taste of human flesh; their teeth are lances and arrows, their tongue as sharp as daggers. Psalms 57:4
In the New Testament, James says Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire. James 3:5-6
Both of these writers look at the tongue as some sort of weapon of destruction! Our conversations should be to lift one another up not pin point all their faults!
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs. Ephesians 4:29
Somebody needs to say building up according to their needs!!! Building up according to their needs!! I had to repeat that to make sure you got it! Not according to what you think they need, but according to what they actually need.
Also as stated before if you have already hurt someone or someone else thinks you've hurt them, you are to fix it.
Therefore if you are offering your gift at the alter and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the alter. First go and be reconciled to your brother, then come and offer your gift." Matthew 5:23-25
Notice it's not just if you have a problem, if you know someone has a problem with you!
So let's just Zip It and start peaking encouraging words to each other!
